You may have noticed I have become sparse as hell on here. The reasons, largely, have been stress and pain from my injuring my arm last year and not taking more than a week at a time to rest it.
"Why didn't you take time off to rest?" you may ask.
Well, it's stupid but I honestly could not afford to. I still can't on my own. I was scared I'd lose my job since I had no idea how my boss would react to "Hey, I need to not work for 1 month minimum, maybe more."
I finally had a delightful, as in not so delightful very nasty awful super mega ultra sucky bawling my face off hyperventilating breakdown and asked my Dad to help me out. So, he is making sure I can pay my bills for the month my Doc ordered me to STOP USING MY RIGHT ARM FOR EVERYTHING. At least I hope it only lasts a month. Doc said if it's not better after a month to come back & let him take another look.
The steroid I was on helped with the swelling, and the ibuprofen I've been taking also seems to help, and the ice, and the heat, and the not using it to do any basic daily tasks if I can help it.
My boss was understanding and supportive about my taking time to heal. I'm less scared about my job prospects thanks to him.
Since I have learned to write and touch type w my Left Hand on its own I am still writing so if you want you can check out my Patreon which will still be updating with new prose while I am forced to rest.
If you want to check out how I'm doing day to day there is my Twitter page that I have been leaning on the last year like a cane. I've met lots of great people here and on Twitter so those of you on there may want to check it out. You might find some cool writers or artists you didn't know you needed to know but totally did:
I've been resting the last 2 weeks and I gotta say it hasn't been pretty. I've been a mess. I was a mess before the Doc told me to rest but I've been the kind of mess that will take time to clean.
Here's hoping things with my arm improve so I can get back to drawing things and do a lot less crying.
